Deus Ex Machine (part 3 - the end)

Have you read part 1 and 2 ?
---------------------------------------------------------------
Master Engineer had a few days before he came Profesor Engineer, so he started his journey. He decided to go to the North Sections, 13, 11, 8, and 5 which was the oldest section alowed to transit. He wanted to learn more about The Machine, although he knew It was too complex, neither the great sages ant Arquitects were able to understand it entirely.
The first North Section was very similar to the 15 Section were he spent all his life, focused on energy production, with a little more termo plants and a little less Nuke plants. "Older technique", he thought. The next sections were about producing mechanical pieces for the new structures. THey were different, but all the sections feel like a whole. The Great Machine. He feel that his life was worth if he served the Machine well. He do not know what it was for, but he knew it was Good.
The Section nº 5 was quite different. It was an old section of control to transmit orders to the newer sections of development. Old Technology, working smoothly, like the very first day. It was a beautiful, but somehow, disturbing sight. He contemplated the silent section trying to understand why it worked and wat was it purpose. He studied some old programs that still running there, but they were meaningless to him. Chaotic plans that seemed to be written for no reason with no pattern. "The Secrets of the Machine. Sages we have that will have the answers." He recited that old sentence to avoid more confrontation with his curiosity. Then he started his return to his Home-Section, nº15. He stare at the old section as a silent farewell. He felt as if he was missing something. He felt as if the Secrets were a giantic puzzle, with just one piece left, and he hold the last one in his hand, but he was unable to finish it.
What was the Machine for? "Sages we have that will have the answers".
- And this is a thermo plasma generator. It transforms heats from beneath the soil to current, so we can use it to power our technology. It has an 83% of efficiency. Questions? Yes, Student?
- If we have thermo plasma generators, why we are still using old nuke power plants? The have less efficiency and they produce heavy polution.
- All has its reason to be. Everything are parts of the machine as we are. The Thermo Plasma Generators are very expensive, and can only be installed on rifts, which are very unstable and may stop producing energy any time. So, we need the reliability of the nukes. Of course nowadays the nukes are being substituted for new technology which is not bio-hazard. Yes?
- What does "we are parts of the machine" mean?
- Well, you should ask your philosophy teacher rather than me. I thought you have that clear now. We are all parts of the machine. Our mission is to be useful to the Greater Purpose, and each one will do in its way, being Worker, Engineer or whatever. For those who have rejected the Machine there is only pain left. Without purpose life is nonsense. You won't have an occupation, and, as you are no longer part of the machine you became a Pariah. The Pariah have no home, because they out of the System, and the System won't gave them nothing. Outkast they are condemned to a slow death, of hungry and thirst, because the fooders won't gave anything to Rejected. They usually perish and none cares, The Machine do not cares.
- Enough philosophy, I need answers. Let's go to the next room.
A bunch of students followed him.
- Ok, this is the Supervisor room. Who can tell me what is this? Student?
- An Oscyloscope
- Indeed. And what does an oscyloscope? Student?
- Shows an electrical signal.
- Well...more or less... And what is this? Student?
- It's a ... delta-meter.
- Ok, and what is it for? Student? At your side?
- Well... it just beeps.
Profesor Engineer smiled
- Hahahaha! Well, it is more complex than that, but it was esentially what it does. Very acurate and simple.
A shadow formed, cast by a cloud. Then he stopped smiling.
The puzzle was over.

Told you it was coming soon.
