Deus Ex Machina (part2)
He has been moved. The Arbitrer sent him to a new location. But work was work. It seemed that the last Master Engineer in charge perished to a lethal accident. It was ok. His last proyect was about to end, and at that time Engineers usually get moved. The never see what they create. If they were asigned to a finished work to check it, it was always another's project.
The workers did not even seem to notice. A Master Engineer was a Master Engineer. They weren't aware that something changed. But in the same way Master Engineer did not notice any diference between this workers and the last he had in charge. That was why the Machine worked. Every one has his place, but no one was the one. Other was always ready to take its place. Specialize, they called this. Every was just a part of the Machine. And different level parts were not suposed to know each other.
Master Engineer was very proud of its title. There was nothing more to be. At first he was afraid of everything, but he learned how to find hapyness in work. The secret of life was to enjoy the little things that form the life. But now, he has spent all his life to the Machine, he folowed every instruction in the Manual. And its last page was getting too close. He decided to write its own Append, to let the young learn from him and his vision about the Machine.
And the feared day came at once. He found a letter.
      " Estimated Master Engineer:
The Elder Council is very proud to announce your upgrade to Elder Master Engineer. As a higher part of the Machine you are not suposed to continue with your current project. Now it is your time to pass your knwoledge and wisdom to the new brethren.
                   Congratulations
                                The Elder Council"
In one word, you're retired. He was a little nervous. For the first time in 30 years he was going to stop his job. It took him a few days to
realize the truth: he was no longer usefull. He was old. And dying.
Now is the time for him to pass his knowlegde to the new generation. His last work for The Machine.
First, he wanted to travel to see other sections of the machine. He always wanted, but he never had the time. It's now or never. His time is slipping away. Time to visit the corpse of the youth dreams.
